THE FACES OF CONCERN, THE SECOND GENERATION: A Conversation with Nancy Powell Eisenstadt and Rick Powell

Conceived out of friendship, Concern Foundation for Cancer Research has been one of Los Angeles’s best-known and most beloved charities. Concern is dedicated to raising and granting funds to support cancer research worldwide pioneering support of cancer research, specifically in funding young scientists and immunology research.  In 1980 the dream Concern’s President Larry Powell was to enlist his children to begin to carry forth the mission of Concern by forming the next generation known as Concern II.

In this video we get to meet and hear from two of Concern II’s founders Nancy Powell Eisenstadt and her brother Rick Powell.  They share stories of how Concern II made an impact in the non-profit community and became the envy of many other non-profit organizations that wanted to also form a “next generation”.  Nancy & Rick were instrumental from the very beginning in bringing in their friends to rally around the mission of Concern and raise millions of dollars through low-cost fundraisers with all of the proceeds earmarked for pediatric cancer research projects in Los Angeles and worldwide.  The legacy of Concern II lives on today in the current leadership of Concern as a third and now fourth generation of Concern continues to raise funds and awareness.  This video is filled with some great pictures and stories of the impact that Nancy, Rick along with their families and friends have made on the organization for the past 50 plus years.
