COMMUNITY DRIVEN FUNDRAISERS AND
FRIEND-RAISERS MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Throughout the year, Concern hosts or receives benefits from several fundraisers to support cancer research and friend-raising events that provide opportunities for cancer patients and families to be able to enjoy some time away from cancer and treatments. Local business and corporate partnerships and multi-generation community support make it possible for Concern to broaden awareness, community impact and introduce new supporters and friends to further its mission.
Concern hosts an annual Holiday Party for pediatric cancer patients and their immediate family members. The holiday celebration features an early arrival from Santa to deliver bountiful Christmas presents to the families which have been donated by friends and businesses throughout the Los Angeles community. It’s a truly magical event and the perfect way to ring in the Holiday Season.
Since 2018 Concern has partnered with the Beauty Bus Foundation to deliver loving kindness, support, and compassion to several thousand cancer patients, their families and caregivers through beauty services. Using funds raised by Team Concern, pop-up salons are being funded where patients and caregivers receive a variety of complimentary beauty and grooming services at local hospitals and social service partners. With each service Beauty Bus gives complimentary Bags of Beauty filled with donated, full-size beauty and grooming products to every client, so the pampering can continue after the visit.
