Celebrating Our 2025 Block Party Honorees
Join us in recognizing the remarkable individuals whose dedication, leadership, and generosity continue to fuel the mission of Concern Foundation.
Lisi and Steve Teller
Longtime Sponsors, Board Members, and Community Philanthropists
Lisi
Lisi grew up in a family of giving. From her grandparents and parents, she was always around it, participating in it, and seeing the good it does.
The commitment to raising monies for cancer is extremely important to her. 20 years ago, Lisi was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer. Fortunately, and no coincidence, with the help and guidance of Dr. Alexandra Levine, our Co-Honoree tonight, she was treated at USC Norris and subsequently at City of Hope and today is doing well.
Lisi’s involvement with Concern has always been there. From chairing several fashion show luncheons and other events, to being President of Concern from 2019-2021, she is always there when called on.
Beyond Concern, Lisi has been on the Board of Beit T’Shuvah, and a long-time active supporter of Oakwood School where she was President of the Parent Organization and established many of the student related activities that still are present today. She is also a Lion of Judah member and involved in numerous Federation activities, as well as a member of the SAM Initiative.
Steve
While Steve’s preference is to remain in the background, he nevertheless is out-front in leading by example. Whether through his involvement in Concern Foundation or Oakwood School or consulting with other charitable organizations or businesses, his knowledge is shared without hesitation.
With 45 years of involvement in Concern, he was hooked after the first meeting – a presentation by Dr. Stu Siegel, followed by going upstairs to see patients at Children’s Hospital. How could you not get involved. Little did he know that in a couple years when his father was 51 he would lose his battle with cancer. Since then, Steve has been an active Executive Board member serving in various financial related roles giving endless advice to the organization. From very active participation in the initial Concern II events, to the countless years of Rodeo Drive Block parties and building stages w/ the ROTC, to 20 years of Paramount Block parties, Steve is always there.
Aside from Concern, Steve spent 20 years as a Board member and Executive Board member at Oakwood School lending the same financial expertise to Oakwood’s growth.
With a degree in Economics and being a licensed CPA, Steve started his career out of college in the business management field of the entertainment industry. For the last 40 years, he has been part of the “family” business and currently oversees all financial and business aspects of one of LA’s largest private companies, spending most of his time on generational tax and estate planning for the family and mentoring the next generation to take over the business.
….Together
Both born and raised in Los Angeles, they’ve grown up in a community of giving back and are now following in their parent’s footsteps and setting an example for their kids who have actively taken up their philanthropic goals. Jordan and his wife Lauren have two wonderful children – Liam and Nora – who both Lisi and Steve relish in the time they get to spend with them.
Jordan is an Emmy award winning sports editor and continues to grow his sports photography work creating impactful sports content. Having obtained his MBA, he is currently in a third-generation leadership position in the family business. Lauren is a talented speech and language pathologist working with kids with special needs. Courtney has used her experience at a major production company where she focused on integrated marketing and digital strategies to launch her own business with a partner from the same company and now focuses on driving brand strategy success from strategy to execution while partnering with major entertainment and venture capital firms.
Both Jordan and Courtney have years of extensive and valuable contributions to Concern. Jordan and his small group of contemporaries for years have been the backbone of support for the set up and execution of the annual Block party. Courtney has focused on Auctions and other fundraising efforts. Their hope is that they are in the forefront of leading Concern into the next generation.
Together their commitment to philanthropy is far reaching. They have been great supporters of the Concern Foundation for over 40 years. Both are members of the Cedars Sinai Board of Governors and have generously supported major gift programs there. At City of Hope where their family has a long-time commitment to growth over several generations, they have close relationships and have supported numerous major research and building programs there. In addition, they have supported major research programs at Cedars Sinai and USC Norris
They feel fortunate to be able to be in a position to give back to the community, and to inspire others to participate in worthwhile causes in their community. And as they say, they are both so appreciative of the recognition as honorees honoring a legacy of community leadership.
And they are honored to be recognized tonight with Dr. Alexandra Levine, one of the most respected, committed doctors in the medical field. Dr. Levine is admired by generations of doctors today who were students and colleagues of hers.
